Privacy
What gets tracked, and what doesn’t.
Short version: this site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and which pages get read, only after you accept the cookie banner. No ads, no tracking across other sites, no profile building. If you reject the banner, no analytics scripts load at all and no cookies get set.
Who runs this site
Genevieve Craig, an individual, based in Porto, Portugal. I act as the data controller under GDPR. To reach me, use the email link below.
What I collect when you accept analytics
- Pages you view, in what order, and how long you spend on each.
- Which chat starter pills you click, whether you paste a job description, and whether you download the CV. These are custom events I use to understand which work resonates.
- Standard browser metadata: country (not city, not address), device type, screen size, referring site, language.
Google Analytics anonymises IP addresses by default. I never see your full IP. I have no way to identify you personally from this data.
What I don’t collect
- The text of anything you type into the chat input.
- The contents of any job description you paste.
- Voice recordings — voice input runs locally in your browser via the Web Speech API and never leaves your device.
- Email addresses, names, or any identifying information unless you email me directly.
Cookies
If you accept the banner, Google Analytics sets two cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that help it count returning visitors. They expire after 2 years. I also store your banner choice in localStorage so I don’t ask again — that’s not a cookie, it’s a per-browser preference you can clear at any time from your devtools.
Data retention
I keep analytics data for 14 months, the default GA4 setting. After that, individual event data is purged automatically. Aggregated reports may persist longer in summary form.
How to opt out
- Click Reject on the cookie banner. Already accepted and want to change your mind? Clear
gvivcraig-analytics-consentfrom your browser’s localStorage and reload — the banner reappears. - Install Google’s GA opt-out browser add-on. Disables GA across every site you visit, not just this one.
- Use a browser extension like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger. Both block GA by default.
Your GDPR rights
If you’re in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data I hold about you. As noted above, the analytics I collect is anonymised and not personally identifiable, so there’s typically nothing to access. If you’ve emailed me directly, that correspondence is personal data — email me and I’ll delete it on request.
Updates
If this policy changes materially, I’ll update the date below and, where relevant, re-prompt you for consent.
